Mission Statement
Members of the Marine Corps League join together in camaraderie and fellowship for the purpose of preserving the traditions and promoting the interests of the United States Marine Corps, banding together those who are now serving in the United States Marine Corps and those who have been honorably discharged from that service that they may effectively promote the ideals of American freedom and democracy, voluntarily aiding and rendering assistance to all Marines, FMF Corpsmen and former Marines and FMF Corpsmen and to their widows and orphans; and to perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps and by fitting acts to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Marines.
Membership
Membership
You have to be allowed into the Marine Corps League. A DD214 is required to show that you were of good standing in the Marines of the FMF or the Navy Corpsman branch. We want those who want to belong. We want those that want to promote Marine Corps traits to our Community and to each other. Most of all, we want to do good inside and outside this League.

Meetings
Meetings are every month. We hope you can make some of the meetings as we are always in the planning stages of having an event to do. We know meetings can be boring sometimes so we hope to make the meeting places more varied and family friendly so we can still spend time with the family but also have Comradery with one another. Our Meetings are the 2nd Wednesday of each month at American Legion Post 26 @1800 hrs. 2020 H St., Bakersfield CA 93306. Meeting times and locations are subject to change. Changes will be posted.
Dues
Membership dues are paid to the Paymaster on a yearly basis. You may also apply to be a Life Member of the Detachment. Your dues goes towards keeping you in good standing with the League and in helping fund the many events we have.
Events
Most events hosted by MCL714 are of the volunteer type. We make the Detachment what it is today. We may want BBQ's or Marine Birthday Balls but whatever it is cannot be done without proper planning and coordinating. Bring your family, bring your friends but most of all bring the Fun!
Comradery
We lived together as a Fraternity of Warriors so from time to time we meet, tell war stories and have a cold one for ourselves and for those that could not be with us. We learn to take care of one another and we learn that we at times we need to lean on one another. Come to the Detachment meeting. Meet Marines. Come back to the Fold. Semper Fidelis. It does not end when you left the Corps.
Community
We are a small Detachment but we make ourselves known in the Community. We host events that promote the Corps and the League but we also try to help the community we live in with various fundraisers, promotional events and get-togethers for family and friends.
